New McDonald's Coming

The Jefferson Park McDonald's is now closed. Its owners are replacing the building with a larger restaurant. A sign on the door says the new restaurant will open in November.

Finally

They found us a new plane and we're scheduled to leave at 11:45. United's staff has been calm and helpful, but I'd still rather take the train. Of course the California Zephyr takes 18 hours to get to Denver.

Cool pilot

Our pilot has been making numerous announcements himself in the gate area. Turns out we might still get out of here if the plane is fixed in time. If it isn't, we might still go if we can swap aircraft and give a later flight our repaired plane. Bad day to fly, but the United folks are doing their best.

Now having to endure overhearing a loud Mr. Know-It-All passenger pontificating about avionics, airline maintenance, deferred maintenance and what a-holes pilots are. This guy needs to STFU.

Bedlam

Not sure what's going on. We were told to reboard, then halfway down the Jetway the pilot told us to get off, that the plane wasn't going to go yet. So we're still waiting to see if there's another aircraft for us -- or if this one gets fixed.

Pilot didn't want to fly with problem unresolved, so we're off the plane and waiting to see if they find another aircraft.

Delay

I got on the plane but pilot noticed a problem elevator pitch controls or oscillation overthruster or flux capacitor or something. He announced it's a deferrable issue, but they're checking anyway. We're now back at the gate and mechanics are checking.
