From what I can tell, there are now maybe only one or two handbaskets left at the Jefferson Park Jewels.
So, I'm done complaining and have joined the program. From now on, I'll be using a shopping cart regardless of how many items I'm buying.
That said, I do like the changes they've made at the store. This store isn't one of the larger ones, yet it's a little easier to get around -- especially pushing a cart.
I do wish that they'd permit a little more variety, however. For example, this Jewels offers three brands of diced, fire-roasted green chiles -- including a house brand. However, all of them are mild. You'd think at least one could be medium or hot.
Still, it's remarkable what sorts of stuff makes its way here from all over the planet. I just bought blueberries here tonight. The harvest from North America is long gone now, and berries from Michigan have been replaced by ones from Argentina. And here's what's remarkable: They all taste the same.
It is nice to know that those fire rosted chilies aren't hot...I have been scare if them!
